Principles

Chakraborty Software’s “philosophy” includes the following points:

  • Tell customers the truth. It may hurt, but you expect us to talk straight.
  • Do what the customer wants. We have preferred ways of solving technical problems, but if it works, it works.
  • Know when to say “I don’t know”.
  • Know when to say “We’ll try, but no guarantees”.
  • Keep it small. All Chakraborty consultants are trusted experts, with a stake in the company’s success. We prefer keeping it this way to expanding at all costs.
  • Be informal and friendly. We’ve found it much more productive to work with people we’re on good terms with, and vice versa. Much of our work comes from personal referrals–there’s no reason not to make friends with a customer.
  • Talk to us. Our past and current clients understand that we are glad to help them with ideas and contacts for their particular needs, even when we’re not directly involved with a project.
  • The “Q” word.We don’t bill you for hiring Chakraborty Software, but rather for completing work that satisfies your requirements and more.
  • Fair pay for fair work. We deliberately keep our overhead low, and refer work outside of our core skills to others who we know can do it better than we can; this allows us to set very reasonable rates compared to larger IT consulting firms.
